Post Hangar Privacy Policy
Applies to the Post Hangar app for iPhone and Mac. Last updated 11 October 2026.
Post Hangar is a creator publishing tool made by HC2 Creations LLC. You put a video into a project, write the version each platform needs, and schedule it. This policy says what the app keeps about you, where it goes, and how to get it back or delete it. It is written for what the app actually does; when that changes, this page changes first.
The short version
- We keep what you put in the app, so it can sync between your devices and be posted when you asked.
- We do not sell your information, show you ads, or track you across other apps and websites.
- The app has no advertising or analytics SDKs.
- Logins for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok are stored encrypted on our servers and are never sent to your devices.
- You can export everything and delete your account from inside the app.
What the app keeps
Your account. Your email address and a password we never see in plain text, or, if you use Sign in with Apple, the identifier Apple gives us and the email address Apple shares (which can be a private relay address).
What you create. Projects, captions, titles, descriptions, hashtags, tag sets, text blocks, chapters, per-platform settings, schedules and their time zones, the platform account names you add, and the edit history of your captions so you can restore an earlier version.
Your media. The videos, cover frames and thumbnails you import. They are stored on the device you imported them on and uploaded to our storage, so your other devices can use them and, where you have connected a platform, so we can publish them for you.
Your devices. An identifier the app creates for each device, the device's name and type, and when it was last active. This is how your iPhone and Mac agree on which one reminds you about a post.
What happened to each post. Whether it was posted, skipped or missed, when, from which device, and, for posts we publish for you, the platform's post ID, link and any error it returned.
Permissions on your device
- Photos: to import the videos you choose, and to save a video to your library when you post it yourself. The app does not scan your library.
- Notifications: reminders are scheduled on your own device at the time you chose. No reminder content is sent through our servers.
- Clipboard: the app copies a caption to the clipboard when you tap Copy. It does not read your clipboard.
Connected platforms
Some features need you to connect an account on another platform. When you do, that platform gives us an access token and basic account details (such as your channel, page or account name and ID). We use them only to publish the posts you schedule, to check that a post went live, and to warn you before a connection expires. Tokens are encrypted and held on our servers only. Disconnecting an account, or deleting your Post Hangar account, deletes its tokens. You can also revoke access from the platform's own settings at any time.
YouTube. Post Hangar uses YouTube API Services. By connecting a YouTube channel you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. You can revoke Post Hangar's access at any time from Google's security settings.
TikTok. When you post to TikTok yourself, Post Hangar hands the video from your photo library to the TikTok app using TikTok's Share Kit. We do not receive your TikTok login or account details that way, only whether the share completed. The caption travels on your clipboard; TikTok does not let other apps fill it in. If you connect a TikTok account for direct posting, TikTok gives us an access token and the basic account and posting details its Content Posting API provides (such as your display name, avatar, the privacy options available to you, and the status of each post), used only as described above. What you do inside TikTok is covered by TikTok's Privacy Policy.
Instagram. Connecting a professional Instagram account (business or creator) through Instagram's own login gives us an access token and the account's name, @username, Instagram user ID and profile picture link. We keep the date Instagram says the token expires, so we can renew it and warn you before it lapses. We use them only as described above: to publish the Reels you schedule, to add the first comment and collaborators you chose, and to check that a post went live. Post Hangar cannot delete an Instagram post once it is published; you delete it in Instagram.
Facebook. Connecting a Facebook Page gives us an access token for each Page you choose, and each Page's name, ID and picture link. Facebook also gives us an ID for your Facebook account that is specific to Post Hangar; we keep it only to know which of your connected Pages share one permission, so that disconnecting one Page does not end the others. We keep the date Meta says it will ask you to approve access again, so we can warn you before then. We do not receive your Facebook password, friends, messages or personal profile.
Meta's handling of your data is covered by Meta's Privacy Policy.
Who processes it for us
We use a small number of service providers to run the app. Each processes your data only to provide their service to us.
- Supabase: account sign-in and the database that holds your projects and settings.
- PowerSync: keeps that database in step between your devices.
- Cloudflare: stores your uploaded media and runs the service that handles uploads and platform connections.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, and subscriptions through the App Store. Apple processes your payment; we never see your card.
- RevenueCat: tells the app whether your subscription is active on each device.
These providers may process data in the United States and other countries.
What we never do
- We do not sell personal information, and we never have.
- We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not post anything you did not schedule, and we do not read or post to your accounts for any other purpose.
Getting a copy
In the app, Settings → Export my data saves everything we hold about your account as a file, including a list of your uploaded media. It works offline, because a full copy of your data is already on your device.
Deleting your account
In the app, Settings → Delete account removes your account, everything you created, your uploaded media and any stored platform connections from our live systems, and clears the app's data on your devices. Copies in our routine backups are overwritten as those backups expire. If you cannot reach the app, email [email protected] from the address on your account and we will delete it for you.
Deleting what Instagram or Facebook gave us
To delete the data Instagram or Facebook shared with us without deleting your Post Hangar account, open Accounts in the app (the profile menu on iPhone, the sidebar on Mac) and choose Disconnect on that account or Page. We delete its access token straight away. The account's name, @username, ID and picture link stay in your Accounts list, marked disconnected, until you delete your Post Hangar account, which deletes them too. To have them deleted sooner, or if you no longer have the app, email [email protected] from the address on your Post Hangar account, name the Instagram account or Facebook Page, and we will delete everything Meta shared with us about it and confirm by email within 30 days.
You can also remove Post Hangar's access from Meta's side at any time: in Facebook, Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations; in Instagram, Settings → Apps and websites. Once its access is removed, Post Hangar can no longer publish to that account, and the app asks you to reconnect or disconnect it. If you also ask Facebook or Instagram to have us delete your data, we delete its access token straight away and stop any post scheduled through it, as Disconnect does, and we delete the account's name, @username and picture link from your Accounts list. We keep only its ID, which is how a later reconnect is recognised. An Instagram account is found by its ID even after you disconnected it; a Facebook Page is found only while Post Hangar still has access to it, so for a Page you had already disconnected, email us as above.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists. Items you delete are removed when you delete them, except the edit history of a caption, which is kept with the caption until the caption or the project is deleted.
Security
Data travels encrypted between the app and our servers. Each account can only read its own data. Platform tokens are encrypted with a key kept separately from the database that stores them.
Your rights
You can see, export, correct and delete your information from inside the app, or ask us by email. Depending on where you live you may have further rights under local law, such as the right to object to or restrict processing; email us and we will answer within 30 days.
Children
Post Hangar is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. The platforms it posts to set their own minimum ages.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes are shown in the app before they take effect. We do not make changes retroactively.
